Apple today introduced a new iPad Pro. Surprisingly, this is how the new Apple tablet, new cameras, more power, and a new keyboard have arrived. Although without a doubt, what is most surprising is the choice to include a new LIDAR sensor.
A new Macbook Air and a refreshed iPad Pro, Apple has been busy this morning. The brand describes its new tablet as the most advanced to date and says in the statement that it can be more potent than “most Windows PC laptops.”
Retaining Apple’s signature design, this new iPad Pro hides an Apple A12Z Bionic chip that promises to take on the heaviest of tasks. What’s more, the presentation has come accompanied by a promotional video that shows all the things we can do with it: edit 4K video or make 3D designs and more.
As we said, the design is what we are used to seeing in Apple stores, but in the back, the protagonists are a large number of cameras. Three in total spread over a primary 12 Mpx sensor, followed by a 10 Mpx 125 degree full angle sensor and a third 2x zoom sensor.
A configuration is reminiscent of the triple camera featured on the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max. The functions of these cameras are also the Smart HDR, 4K recording at 60 FPS with a wide-angle. Selfies can take with the front camera, a seven-megapixel TrueDepth sensor with f / 2.2 aperture.
At the front, the screen can be 11 or 12.9 inches, two versions that also differ in resolution. As indicated in the table above. Apple has thought about gaming consumption, and both versions have a 120 Hz refresh rate, P3 color space, and oleophobic, and anti-reflective coating.
At the edges, we find speakers, microphones, the start button, and USB Type-C port. Apple has emphasized the five receivers of this new iPad Pro to improve the quality of the audio recording as an essential complement to photographic equipment. Plus, all four speakers automatically adapt to orientation to always deliver an immersive horizontal and vertical experience.
The brand wants this tablet to be a perfect team for content creators and designers. Next month, it will introduce new apps like FiLMiC Pro’s DoubleTake that use the iPad Pro’s cameras and microphones to turn it into a portable video production studio. For this, you must also have a great heart that takes care of the performance of so much work.
Higher power and LIDAR sensor
Inside is the Apple A12Z Bionic processor, and a 64-bit chip made up of Neural Engine and the M12 co-processor. In addition to sharing the processor. Both the small and large models offer the same variations of internal storage. 128, 256, or 512 GB or reach up to the terms of memory. What is not yet known is RAM.
Above all this, the main novelty that attracts all eyes on this new iPad Pro is the LIDAR sensor. A laser sensor designed to measure the distance of objects and understand the depth of the scene before you. The sensor used by Apple is capable of calculating the distance to objects located at a maximum of 5 meters. That is in addition to the information collected by cameras and motion sensors to improve results. Especially in augmented reality applications.
Apple gives as an example, the use of the Measurements application. Thanks to the LIDAR sensor can now calculate a person’s height or measure objects easier, faster, and with greater precision.
Finally, we can highlight the arrival of iPadOs 13.4. It’s a new version of the operating system that includes trackpad support. And allows this tablet to be more similar to a laptop. It is not a copy of macOS, but a complete transformation of the interface. News that is complemented by the new floating keyboard that has presented with this new model.
