Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a, Google’s new 5G mobiles
It would be a presentation dedicated to home devices, but Google has surprised by introducing the new Google Pixel, which embraces the 5G connection.
Two new models join Google’s Pixel family. With the G as the main protagonist. They are the new Pixel 4a 5G and the long-awaited google pixel 5, which does not carry the G in the name but does its internal 5G modem.
Google has indicated in the presentation its interest in developing high-tech mobiles at affordable prices. Something that had not happened in previous generations, but it is true that with the Pixel 4a, they have been redeemed. And the price of these models is not bad.
The new Pixel 4a 5G is a new variant that adds a 5G connection, a larger OLED screen, and a larger battery to support the higher consumption of the 5G connection.
The day’s big news is the Pixel 5, which Google wants to turn into the standard Android mobile for the 5G connection.
To focus on things, we compare both models’ characteristics in this table and add the Pixel 4a, which becomes the company’s new entry phone.

Google Pixel 4a 5G
As we see in the comparison, the new Pixel 4a 5G is not limited to adding the 5G connection to the current Pixel 4a. It also improves the hardware a bit.
It has a larger 6.2-inch Full HD + OLED screen, even more significant than the Pixel 5. Also, it debuts the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which is the same as the Pixel 5. This places them in the premium mid-range.
Although it has the same RAM as the Pixel 4a, 6 GB, it is LPDDD4x. The cameras section maintains the same 12 MP dual-pixel primary sensor but adds a second 16 MP ultra-wide-angle f / 2.2 sensor, with a pixel size of 1 micron and 107 degrees of field of view. The 8 MP front camera is the same.
Finally, the battery is more significant, 3,885 mAh, since the 5G connection consumes more. And it also has stereo speakers.
These improvements, logically, make the price go up. The Pixel 4a 5G will cost $ 499 in the United States. Here it is still priceless, but possibly around 550 euros, compared to 389 euros for the Pixel 4a.
Google Pixel 5
Google’s new benchmark smartphone boasts a 6-inch Full HD + 90 Hz OLED panel, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It is waterproof.
The processor chosen is the Snapdragon 765G, the same as the Pixel 4a 5G, with 8 GB of RAM & 128 GB of storage.
The camera section is the same as the Pixel 4a 5G: a 12.2 MP dual-pixel primary sensor with f / 1.7 aperture and a 16 MP ultra-wide-angle and f / 2.2 aperture. The frontal camera is 8 Mega Pixel with f / 2.0 aperture.
The battery reaches 4,080 mAh, with fast, wireless, and reverse charging. Google claims that it lasts all day.
The Pixel 5 costs $ 699. In summary, the two phones fall within the premium mid-range, whose main difference is in the larger RAM and the best battery of the Pixel 5.
